Seeking two lead actors:

Male Lead (70s, Scottish)

A kind-hearted, witty, and stubborn older man with a rugged charm. He has lived in Lahaina for decades, making peace with his past while cherishing the memories of his late wife and daughter. His friendship with the female lead is unexpected but deeply meaningful. Despite his age, he has a sharp mind, a dry sense of humor, and a deep love for storytelling. He must embody both warmth and the weight of past tragedies. -Must know how to swim.

Female Lead (20s – 30s Hawaiian-Mixed)

A strong, adventurous, and introspective woman deeply connected to the ocean and her homeland. She carries both resilience and vulnerability, shaped by personal loss and a longing for closure. Her journey to Maui is both external and internal, forcing her to confront grief, regrets, and the fleeting nature of time. She has a natural, effortless beauty and an emotional depth that comes through in quiet moments. -Must know how to swim.

Supporting Role: (Must reside in Maui)

Male Boyfriend (20s – 30s, Mixed Race or Local)

A passionate and adventurous Chef, deeply in love with his girlfriend but struggling to understand her emotional journey. He joins her on the sailing trip to Maui. He should have a strong, charismatic presence with an adventurous spirit.

Concierge (Any age, race, and gender)

A hotel employee whose job is to assist guests by booking tours.

News Reporter (Any age, ethnicity, and gender)

Reporting the news on TV.

Non-Speaking Roles

Young Father (30s, Scottish)

Young version of male lead, playing on the beach with his wife and toddler daughter.

Young Mother (30s, Local Asian)

Wife of young male lead, playing on the beach with her husband and toddler.

Female Toddler (3-4 years old, Mixed)

Toddler that resembles female lead, playing on the beach with her parents.

Two Sailors (Any age, ethnicity, and gender)

Must knows how to dock a sailboat.

Seeking background actors able to portray: Local Maui Residents – Extras

Locals affected by loss, some offering guidance and support, others grieving their own way.

Each role requires actors with strong emotional depth and authenticity, particularly in portraying the themes of loss, resilience, and human connection.

This is a short film under SAG-AFTRA micro-budget contract. Supporting Roles and Background Actors are unpaid, but an opportunity to be on a movie set, performers will be provided with meals, credit for the project, and invitation to the premiere.
